A note from our founder:
I started St’Valent Studio after taking an interest in modern stained glass for a college project. I still can’t believe that it’s grown into what it is now—a full studio with a physical home in NYC and a thriving local community!
Glass art is a perfect medium for anyone like me who loves exploration. From European stained glass brought to the United States to calligraphy-inspired glass painting in China and Japan, its rich history makes it so there’s always something new to discover! The playful and functional nature of glass also allows me to bring creativity into my everyday life: I love making morning matcha in my hand-painted chawan and I cherish surrounding myself with handmade objects that remind me of my fondest memories.
Sharing this joy with the local community has been the greatest highlight of my art journey so far. When I moved to NYC, creative spaces like this were my safe havens when I struggled to rebuild my sense of self and community in a new place.
My hope is to create a space that offers that same feeling for others: somewhere to slow down, explore, and connect with your community through creativity.
the Muse Room
This studio was created as a communal room of muses for NYC: a space for anyone who loves to create. Whether you grew up crafting but now juggle a busy professional life or you’re a budding artist looking for inspiration, this is a place to unwind, explore, and make something beautiful while building new connections. It’s never too late to pick up a hobby that brings meaning, creativity, and a deeper sense of belonging to you and your life in the city!
We are working on bringing more artists into the studio to lead events. If that sounds exciting to you, please fill out the form below. We are always dreaming up new experiences for our community.
